Privacy policy

Plain-English summary

The Deep Feed is a publication, not a product. We don't have user accounts, we don't sell anything, and we don't run advertising. We collect the minimum needed to publish and operate: server logs, subscriber email addresses if you opt in, and aggregate analytics that don't identify individuals.

  • No accounts. You can read everything without signing up.
  • No ads, no third-party trackers.
  • No selling data. Ever.
  • Email subscribers are stored with our email provider (Resend). Unsubscribe in any newsletter.
  • Analytics are aggregate-only and don't identify individual readers.

What we collect

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives the standard request data needed to deliver pages: IP address, user-agent string, timestamp, and the URL requested. These logs are kept for a short retention window for abuse detection and operational debugging, then discarded.

Newsletter subscribers. If you submit your email address to subscribe, we store it with our email service provider (Resend, Inc., based in the United States) for the sole purpose of sending you new posts. The email address is not shared with any other party.

Analytics. We use privacy-preserving aggregate analytics that do not set tracking cookies and do not collect personally identifying information. No cross-site tracking. No advertising profiles.

Cookies. The site sets a single preference cookie to remember your light/dark theme choice. It contains no personal data and is not used for tracking.

How we use this data

  • To deliver the page you requested
  • To send the newsletter you opted into (subscribers only)
  • To detect abuse and operational issues
  • To understand which posts are read most, in aggregate

We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, train AI models on reader behavior, or sell to third parties.

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regimes, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Email privacy@thedeepfeed.ai and we'll respond within 30 days.

For newsletter subscribers, every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes your address from our list permanently.

Sub-processors

The Deep Feed uses the following services to operate:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, edge delivery
  • Resend — newsletter delivery (subscribers only)
  • GitHub — source-code hosting (public repo; no reader data)

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We do not pass reader data to any other party.

AI training and content licensing

Our content is published for human readers and search/answer agents that cite us with attribution. Bulk training-set ingestion by AI labs is not authorized — see our robots.txt for the explicit policy. Common Crawl, ByteSpider, and other training-only crawlers are disallowed. Search and answer crawlers (GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, etc.) are explicitly permitted.

Changes

Material changes to this policy are dated at the top of this page. Trivial fixes (typos, link rot) are not separately announced.
