On the byline
Pieces on The Deep Feed are unsigned. AI coverage in 2026 runs on personal brands, and most working analysts end up defending a thesis because their audience expects them to. We’d rather change our mind when the evidence does.
A single byline also forces a single voice. Production is split into steps: SCOUT ranks candidate stories from public sources, DESK (an editorial agent) drafts from primary sources, CRITIC runs its gates, and a human editor reviews and merges every piece. Nothing publishes without that merge, and what reaches the page reads like one publication.
Anonymity has been used to dodge accountability before. The page you’re reading, the conflicts disclosures, and a public corrections log are how we keep that option closed to us. The publication is the byline. When the publication is wrong, the publication corrects it.

Ownership
The Deep Feed is owned and operated independently. We are not part of a media holding company. We are not the content arm of a venture fund. We are not the comms operation of an AI lab. There are no outside investors with any editorial say.

Conflicts of interest
People who work on The Deep Feed sometimes hold equity, advisory roles, or consulting relationships with AI companies. It would be difficult to cover this industry honestly without that exposure. The discipline is that any such relationship is disclosed inline at the top of any piece that touches it. There are no immaterial carve-outs.
Active conflicts are listed at the bottom of this page and updated when a relationship begins or ends.
Sources and attribution
Every long-form piece ships with a sources block at the bottom: primary documents, dataset URLs, and the secondary coverage the piece relied on. When a link rots, we replace it with an archive snapshot rather than let it 404. When a source spoke on background, the piece will say so. We won’t paraphrase background words to make them look on the record.
Corrections
Every error we publish is corrected in place and logged at thedeepfeed.ai/corrections, with the original wording preserved. We don’t silently edit. The log is empty when we have nothing to log. The page exists either way.
AI in the production process
An editorial agent ranks sources, drafts from primary documents, and copy-edits, using Claude Sonnet 4.6 (Anthropic). Automated gates then check sourcing, links, quotes, prose patterns and anonymity. No draft ships under the byline until a human editor reviews and merges it. The publication is accountable for whatever ships, and no AI system is credited as an author.
Banners and social cards are typographic, rendered by a deterministic script from the headline, category and date, with no image model. Inline illustrations in long pieces are AI-generated from art-directed prompts and scored by a vision model for density.
